FEBRUARY 2026: A Tale of Cookies

PANEL ONE: DYLAN is waxing eloquent about Imbolc, Brigid, Candlemas! He’s holding a lit candle and has a crown of candles on his head.

DYLAN:
I love February! The 2nd is the festival of Imbolc, or Brigid, or Candlemas!

PANEL TWO: Dylan makes magic sparkles with his hands as if to illustrate his story. SHERRI, wearing a cool retro t-shirt because she wants to be cool too, comments on Alberta’s weather.

DYLAN:
It’s the time of year when Winter’s power is broken, the snow starts to recede-

SHERRI:
–not in Alberta, it doesn’t–

DYLAN:
And we celebrate the new coming green!

PANEL THREE: DYLAN is continuing to pontificate. OWEN is curiously reaching for his candle crown.

DYLAN:
At this time we honour…

PANEL FOUR: KYLE presents a plastic box of Safeway heart-shaped cookies. The break room erupts with joy–Dylan is in the background, having forgotten what he was saying and looking happily at the cookies. OWEN is now wearing the candle crown and diving towards the cookies with lustful cookie greed in his eyes.

KYLE:
I bought these heart-shaped cookies from Safeway.

DYLAN:
…those!
