PANEL ONE: JOE picks himself up, pleased. RICHIE blushes and grins.

TRAINER JOE:
Good one, Sorensen. You got a handle on your light beam pretty quick!

RICHIE:
Once I found out I could do it, it was easy.

PANEL TWO: JOE pats RICHIE on the shoulder. DEBRA smirks at RICHIE.

TRAINER JOE:
Good stuff!

DEBRA:
Teacher’s pet.

PANEL THREE: MISS THING invites RICHIE out. RICHIE’s not sure.

MISS THING:
Richie, we’re all going out tonight and I’d love it if you came with us.

RICHIE:
I don’t know, I’ve got homework…

PANEL FOUR: MISS THING won’t take “no” for an answer.

MISS THING:
Ah-ah! No excuses. Think of it as a “bonding exercise.”

RICHIE:
But…

PANEL FIVE: DEBRA chimes in, while DEWAYNE looks put out.

DEBRA:
No buts. C’mon and be social!

DEWAYNE:
No point in askin’. Miss Richie’s too good to hang out with us.

PANEL SIX: RICHIE glares at DeWAYNE. MISS THING smiles at RICHIE.

RICHIE:
You know what? I will come out tonight.

MISS THING:
Good! I’ll pick you up at 7.
