PANEL ONE: Back to the present. Carter writes in his notepad, one eye on Baxter.

NARR:
Once you understand, you can tell their story.

PANEL TWO: BAXTER yawns and stretches, CARTER continues taking notes

NARR:
Right now, I’ve seen enough to know that neither Baxter or his story are bullshit; they’re his truth-- and now I just have to see it from his point of view.

PANEL THREE: Close-up on CARTER reading his own notes and looking profoundly disturbed by them.

NARR:
And that’s what scares me.

PANEL FOUR: BAXTER lectures CARTER.

BAXTER:
Gloaming is like any problem you’ve ever had. You can’t see your way out until you figure out why you’re here.

PANEL FIVE: BAXTER pokes his own thumb towards his chest, good-ol’-boy style.

BAXTER:
Now me, I know exactly why I’m here. I’ve got to keep this from happening all over again.

PANEL SIX: A slight look of desperation sneaks onto CARTER’s face.

CARTER:
What about me? The only reason I came here is to find Tommy Jordan. I stumbled into all this.
