PAGE FOUR

PANEL ONE: DYLAN makes up his mind and starts climbing over the fence. SANDRA calls after him.

DYLAN:
Well, I’m going to go get our ball anyway.

SANDRA:
Dylan, don’t. Something bad will happen. I can feel it.

PANEL TWO: DYLAN looks back over his shoulder and gives a thumbs-up.

DYLAN:
No way! I got this!

PANEL THREE: DYLAN approaches the girl, holding the ball in his hands.

NARR:
I climbed over the fence and grabbed our ball first, then I approached her.

DYLAN:
Hi, what’s your name?

PANEL FOUR: THE GIRL looks somehow more ominous, partly in shadow from the tree behind her. It is important to note that she is standing in tall grass and we cannot see her feet.

NARR:
Silence was her only answer.

PANEL FIVE: DYLAN asks the girl to play. Her face does not change expression as she tells him to go away.

DYLAN:
Do you want to play with us?

GIRL:
Go away.

PANEL SIX: DYLAN takes a step toward the girl.

DYLAN:
My name’s Dylan. You don’t have to be scared.

NARR:
And then I took a step toward her.
