PANEL ONE: Baxter looms over the table. He’s actually smiling.

BAXTER:
Mornin’, sunshine.

CARTER:
Baxter.

PANEL TWO: BAXTER sits across the booth from CARTER, grinning like a kid at Christmas.

NARR:
He took a seat and grinned at me like a kid at Christmas.

BAXTER:
Bliss is gone. He’s done. After the fire in the basement, the fire department found the remains of his victims.

CARTER:
The fire department?

PANEL THREE: Flashback: BAXTER grabs a vacant, staring CARTER who is just staring into the mirror (in which there is nothing but his reflection)

NARR:
You were pretty gonzo after you torched the doll. Kept staring into the mirror. I grabbed you and ran…
