PAGE TWENTY-FOUR

PANEL ONE: SANDRA greets DYLAN as he enters the café.

NARR:
If either of us were to have a sister, it’d be Sandra. She grew up right alongside both Ben and I, and we’re inseparable.

PANEL TWO: SANDRA places a prepared coffee in a to-go cup in front of DYLAN.

NARR:
I like to stop for a coffee when I’m out running errands, and discuss the day with her.

SANDRA:
Got your coffee ready!

PANEL THREE: DYLAN grins as he asks her a question he already knows the answer to, and she snarkily grins back. This is an old routine of theirs.

DYLAN:
How’d you know I’d arrive exactly now?

SANDRA:
Ha. You know how.

NARR:
Sandra’s got future sight–she gets flashes of when things are likely to happen.

PANEL FOUR: DYLAN and SANDRA chatting as DYLAN drinks his coffee.

NARR:
Fact is, everyone in Coven Cove’s got some sort of gift, since we’re all descended from witches; but see, there’s having magic, and then there’s the practice of it.

PANEL FIVE: DYLAN takes out a black notebook that has mystical stars on the cover. It says DYLAN CROFT on the cover in witchy letters.

NARR:
The Craft is something you have to work at, kind of putting your mind to it, and not everyone does that; a lot of traditions have fallen by the wayside, over the years.

PANEL SIX: Dylan puts a pencil to his lips as he contemplates what to write in his journal.

NARR:
I guess it’s sorta like religion? Some people put their beliefs into practice, like going to church and such, and upholding the traditions…and some don’t.
