PAGE NINE

PANEL ONE: KARAK nods gravely to Adrian, one finger crooked around his own chin as if studying Adrian. ADRIAN holds up his hands in a “whoa!” gesture.

KARAK:
Indeed. Your magic against his.

ADRIAN:
I don’t have magic-- not like his!

PANEL TWO: Adrian points at a rock and it rises up off the ground.

ADRIAN:
I can… I can do this!

PANEL THREE: The rock falls as Adrian gesticulates wildly with his hands to communicate his frustration to KARAK.
ADRIAN:
I can’t summon or rend the Weave or whatever…!

PANEL FOUR: KARAK squats down again, his hand on ADRIAN’s shoulder. He looks into his eyes. ADRIAN is wide-eyed.

KARAK:
I see. You do not yet understand what it is you have.

PANEL FIVE: KARAK looms closely to ADRIAN’s face, while Adrian gulps nervously.

KARAK:
Therefore, we must teach you.

SFX:
{gulp!}
