PANEL ONE: JANE opens the door, ushering PUNCH inside.

JANE:
Mister Punch…

PANEL TWO (splash panel): An ornate British style office, with a large wooden (equally ornate) desk behind which sits OSCAR MARSDEN, a no-nonsense man with salt-and-pepper hair who looks like he has no time for childish shenanigans like PUNCH. In the foreground, JANE introduces PUNCH. In the office is a coat rack. It is important that PUNCH’s long leather trenchcoat be hanging on it.

JANE:
...meet Oscar Marsden.

NARR:
Marsden. I may never have heard of him, but I can already tell what he is:

NARR:
He is the Authority. He is The Man In Charge.

NARR:
And that means he and I are enemies.

PANEL THREE: MARSDEN introduces himself without standing up; he’s got all the power in the room and he knows it. PUNCH raises an eyebrow, judging him.

MARSDEN:
Mister Punch, is it? So glad to be meeting you at last.

NARR:
Thank god, at least he’s English.
