PANEL ONE: CARTER looks out the window, across the street...and spots a kid in the park. We see this reflected in the window?

CARTER:
Hey, look…! Is that a kid playing outside?

BAXTER:
Thought there were no kids…!

PANEL TWO: CARTER and BAXTER cross the street from the restaurant. CARTER calls to the kid. Kid is in extreme foreground so we don’t see his face.

CARTER:
Hey-- hey kid!

PANEL THREE:
The kid turns around. The kid is Tommy Jordan. CARTER stops short.

CARTER:
Jesus Christ. Tommy Jordan.

PANEL FOUR: Tommy takes off at a run. CARTER runs after him, motioning for BAXTER to follow.

CARTER:
Hey! Stop! Come on, Baxter, after him!

PANEL FIVE: double-wide panel. BAXTER, running, asks Carter:

BAXTER:
We’re chasing this kid why?

CARTER:
{puff} Because THAT is Tommy goddamned JORDAN.

BAXTER:
No {pant} shit?
