SPECTRUM #3

PAGE THREE

PANEL ONE: EDDIE good-naturedly rolls his eyes at RICHIE’s lie. KELLY is smiling encouragingly.

EDDIE:
Sure it is.

KELLY:
Richie, come on. We live in a world of superheroes. Like we don’t know what a “breakout” is.

PANEL TWO: FLASHBACK: KELLY remembers the light pouring out of RICHIE’s eyes (from issue #1)

KELLY: (narr)
I don’t know if you remember, but it started in your eyes. Light was pouring out of them. That isn’t “the air around you.”

PANEL THREE: EDDIE kneels beside the unconscious RICHIE, looking at his glowing skin (head and hands)

EDDIE:
Plus, as you passed out, you were still glowing.

PANEL FOUR: RICHIE gets loaded into the ambulance, still glowing. EDDIE and KELLY watch.

KELLY:
Even when they loaded you into the ambulance. We all saw, dude.

PANEL FIVE: BACK TO THE PRESENT. RICHIE slumps his shoulders and sighs. He’s blushing and grins at his friends. He holds up his hands in a “who knows?” gesture. EDDIE and KELLY grin at him.

RICHIE:
Sigh. I tried.

EDDIE:
You did.

KELLY:
And failed.
