PANEL ONE: DYLAN hands his empty teacup to NAN, who takes it. He has an adoring look on his face, directed at his grandmother.

DYLAN:
I wanna be like you, Nan.

PANEL TWO: NAN smiles down at DYLAN.

NAN:
That’s right and good, dear. But if you intend to pursue the Craft, the first thing you must do–that you must always do!-- is protect yourself.

PANEL THREE: NAN gets down a large earthenware bowl and hands it to DYLAN, who reaches for it eagerly.

NAN:
We’re going to do a spell of protection to keep you safe. Would you like to help me do the spell?

DYLAN:
Oh yes please!

PANEL FOUR: NAN opens the back door of the kitchen to reveal the garden.

NAN:
Very well. Go to the garden and get me some flowers–not too many! And some sweet clover. The purple ones, you know. And pick me some blackberries.

PANEL FIVE: DYLAN steps out into the garden; it’s lush, colorful and full of herbs and flowers.

NARR:
Nan’s garden was something to behold. It was as if she’d planted everything you could think of. A little bit of a hodge-podge, but beautiful.
