PAGE FIFTEEN

PANEL ONE: Later in the day, a backhoe is now digging up the area where Melissa was standing. The kids from the beginning of the story are standing around, with DYLAN, watching it dig.

NARR:
Later that afternoon the town had sent out some digging machine and they were excavating the site where Melissa stood.

SANDRA:
What d’you suppose they’re digging for?

PANEL TWO: DYLAN has a far-away look in his eyes.

DYLAN:
Something that’s been missing a long time.

PANEL THREE: The kids solemnly watch as a small body bag is lifted out of the hole by two men.

DYLAN:
And now it’s finally been found.

PANEL FOUR: SANDRA looks at DYLAN, searchingly.

SANDRA:
You know something, don’t you, Dylan?

PANEL FIVE: DYLAN smiles an innocent smile.

DYLAN:
I just know things are going to be all right now.

NARR:
Kids, right? They just don’t know how wrong they can be.
