PANEL ONE: DYLAN comes back into the kitchen, a little sweaty, a smudge of dirt here and there, and hands the bowl to NAN.

DYLAN:
I think I got everything!

PANEL TWO: Nan sorts the flowers and purple clover into another bowl.

DYLAN:
What are the blackberries for?

NAN:
To eat. Magic is hungry work.

PANEL THREE: NAN gives the bowl of flowers and clover to DYLAN to hold.

NAN:
Now hold the bowl in front of you, and stand still.

PANEL FOUR: For the first time, we see NAN using her magical powers as a Witch. She has a kind of light about her, she looks mystical and serious, and perhaps her eyes have a touch of a glow to them. She has her arms raised as if appealing to the Universe to protect DYLAN, who is standing still holding the bowl.

NAN:
“Faerie wings and firefly light,
Protect the child who bears The Sight.
Dark the night, but light is white,
Moon shine down and shield the mite.”

PANEL FIVE: Dylan holds the bowl, which glows from within as the flower petals and clover spiral upwards above him,

NAN (off-panel):
Cosnaíonn mo chuid fola, do chuid fola, ár gcuid fola tú. (My blood, your blood, our blood protect you.)

PANEL SIX: DYLAN has a magical glow around him, now, and he can see it as the flower petals rain down around him.

DYLAN:
Wow.
